How it works

⚠️ Heads up: Unfortunately Tesla recently imposed strict limits on their APIs. Previously, Priicer could manage Tesla charging as needed, but now it's restricted to just 5 times a day. This significantly reduces Priicer's effectiveness in controlling your Tesla to charge at the cheapest and cleanest times. ⚠️

You can use Priicer to control when your Tesla gets charged based on the real-time price of electricity. You can set Priicer to start charging when the price is under your bid, and it will also stop charging if the price rises above your bid amount.

You can also setup variable bidding, so that the price you are willing to pay changes with the state of charge of the battery. You might be willing to pay more if your battery level is low and want to pay less as the battery gets full.

You can also choose to geofence the area on the map where Priicer is enabled, so Priicer will only control your charging when your Tesla is physically inside of the defined radius.

Instructions

1. Connect your Tesla to the smartphone Tesla App. Make sure your Tesla is connected and is able to be controlled by the app.

2. In Priicer, go to Settings > Tesla Account. Click the link that prompts you to log in to your Tesla account at tesla.com

3. In Priicer fill in the details about the Tesla vehicle including name and initial bid.

4. In the smartphone app, if you have multiple Tesla vehicles, navigate to the Tesla vehicle you want to add to Priicer. Then open your camera app and scan the QR code that is on the Priicer Settings page. Grant Priicer 3rd party access by clicking Approve within the Tesla mobile app.

5. On the Priicer Settings page click Approve. Wait 10 to 20 seconds. Your Tesla should now be added to your Priicer account.

6. In the Priicer Settings > Tesla Account you should now also be able to setup the geofence if you choose to.
